Planning Board approves removal of four trees from scenic road property
Planning Board · Meeting of June 29, 2026
Dover Planning Board approves four tree removals from scenic road property with conditions. At its June 29 meeting, the board voted 4-0 to allow cutting only four of eight trees requested at 146 Claybrook Road, rejecting removal of four additional trees contact with utility lines and instead directing applicant Lynn Hawkins to consult with the utility company about pruning. Town Planner Melissa SantucciRozzi recommended the split decision; Vice Chair Valerie Lin noted that utility clearances fall outside the board's jurisdiction.
The decision requires planting five replacement trees in coordination with the Town Planner, Tree Warden, and Conservation Commission. The board also approved two other preliminary site plan reviews: accessory structures at 138 Pine Street (pool, pool cabana, barn/gym, ADU) and a pool with shed at 1 Wilsons Way, both by 4-0 vote with conditions restricting uses and protecting an equestrian easement.
