Dover Planning Board unanimously endorses ANR plans, approves Powissett Street storage barn

Planning Board · Meeting of July 13, 2026

Dover Planning Board endorses Hale Reservation lot reconfiguration, clearing a path for permanent conservation of over 1,100 acres. The board voted unanimously at its July 13 remote meeting to endorse an Approval Not Required plan filed by Hale Reservation, Inc. reconfiguring four lots at 0 Powissett Street into two parcels, one of which — just over 57 acres — will go under permanent conservation restriction as part of a multi-year effort spanning Dover and Westwood and totaling more than 1,100 acres. Hale representative Aaron told the board an announcement finalizing the restriction is expected "in the next couple of weeks," describing the project as making Hale "the largest privately protected piece of land in the greater Boston area." The board also endorsed an ANR plan for Benjamin and Kelly Taylor to subdivide a five-acre split-zoned parcel at 55 Willow Street and approved a preliminary site plan for Sam and Janet Bain to construct a 3,400-square-foot personal storage barn addition at 40 Powissett Street — a project that first required the Bains to consolidate two adjacent lots through a Land Court deregistration recorded July 9.

Town Planner Melissa Santucci-Rosie, returning from a period of recovery, announced her granddaughter's birth during the meeting's closing minutes.
