Dover Conservation Commission Issues Enforcement Orders for Miller Hill Road Buffer Violations

DOVER — June 14, 2023 — Dover Conservation Commission issues enforcement orders for illegal wetland buffer tree cutting on Miller Hill Road. The commission voted unanimously at its June 14 meeting to issue enforcement orders against the owners of 12 and 14 Miller Hill Road for cutting trees within the 100-foot wetland buffer, including on a neighboring property; attorney Peter Brooks said his client at number 12 would take the lead in coordinating a new wetland delineation and restoration planting plan for both lots. Separately, the commission approved a negative determination of applicability for removal of eight large pine trees at 25 Miller Hill Road — the same property hit with an enforcement order in August 2022 for unpermitted clearing — requiring a two-to-one replacement planting ratio and five special conditions after neighbors described the lot as "completely barren" of the roughly 25 to 30 large oaks removed last year. The commission also approved orders of conditions for a Donnelly Drive retaining wall and deck project, a Bridal Path Circle garage addition, and a 36 Miller Hill Road pool and patio; issued certificates of compliance for 9 Sterling Drive and conditionally for Hale Reservation; and voted unanimously to extend conservation agent Janet's one-year contract under the same terms as the prior year.
