Dover Conservation Commission Renews Agent Contract, Advances Wetlands Cases

DOVER — May 29, 2026 — Dover Conservation Commission unanimously renews consulting agent contract at $120,000 for fiscal year 2027. The four-member board, chaired by John Sullivan, voted 4-0 to approve the contract amendment with consulting conservation agent Janet Harkey-Brauer, nearly doubling the $65,000 figure set in 2022 and matching funding approved at this year's town meeting. The commission also voted to authorize peer review of a Haven Terrace Certificate of Compliance by reviewer Paul McManis, continued a septic replacement and addition project at 14 Meadowbrook Road pending 11 identified plan revisions due June 3, and directed a 2018 enforcement case at 34 Haven Street toward a formal Notice of Intent after a field re-survey found the original GIS-based wetland delineation had materially overstated the buffer zone. A unanimous vote also authorized Harkey-Brauer to submit a letter opposing proposed anti-wetlands amendments to the Massachusetts READY Act, which the commission said would strip local review authority over certain housing projects.
