DOVER -- March 26, 2025, Dover Conservation Commission approves Mill Street septic system, puts high school turf field on notice over wetland runoff. The commission voted unanimously Wednesday to approve a notice of intent for a mound septic system at 30 Mill Street, granting waivers for disturbance within the 50-foot no-disturb setback and for structure within the 70-foot no-structure setback, and waiving the combined $1,000 waiver request fees because, as the conservation agent put it, septic repair "is not a choice." The board also sent a formal letter to the school department warning of potentially hazardous crumb rubber, shredded tire material containing lead, zinc, and a chemical toxic to aquatic species known as 6PPD-quinone, stored without adequate containment near the wetland buffer at the Dover-Sherborn Regional High School athletic fields; the agent said she would separately request that consultants file a notice of intent for the approximately $2 million track and field improvement project before it goes to town meeting in May. A fence modification at 210 Claybrook Road was approved with the $500 waiver fee waived, and the commission approved third-party review for a dam replacement notice of intent at a pond on Pagan Lake Road.
