Dover Conservation Commission Issues Two Orders of Conditions, Votes to Recommend New Member

DOVER — June 25, 2025 — Dover Conservation Commission advances gas main, issues restoration orders, and votes to recommend new member. The commission voted unanimously at its June 25 Zoom meeting to issue a negative determination of applicability for an Eversource Energy 8-inch natural gas main running along Chestnut and Denim Streets from the Charles River bridge to the Westwood town line, with construction expected to begin in mid-July. The board also issued orders of conditions for a restoration planting plan at 14 Rule Drive — covering three buffer-zone areas totaling roughly 10,260 square feet with 215 shrubs and 12 native saplings — and for a stream-crossing project at 8 Pagan Lane, the latter with member Amy recused as Dover Land Conservation Trust president. At 29 Saddle Ridge Road, commissioners told consultant Debbie Anderson to return with a substantially denser planting plan around an unauthorized stone-bordered pond, with Chair John warning the owner that fines remain an option if he refuses: "This is a compromise that is vastly in his favor." The commission approved a June consulting invoice of $10,837.50 for agent Janet and voted unanimously to recommend prospective member Ziga to the Board of Selectmen, while noting that the retirement of commission administrator Lori is prompting a push to hire a full-time replacement.
