Dover Conservation Commission Continues Meadow Brook Road Hearing Over Missed Abutter Notice

DOVER — January 10, 2024 — Dover's Conservation Commission continued a hearing for a proposed single-family home at 6 Meadow Brook Road after discovering that an abutter across the Natick town line had not been notified. The commission, meeting January 10 via Zoom, could not close the hearing because the Margulians of 78 Pleasant Street in Natick — who hold a conservation restriction on the abutting parcel — had not received required notice; a second Wayland abutter was also flagged. Neighbors from 5 and 7 Meadow Brook Road raised concerns about saturated soils, tree removal, and pressure on the aging Meadow Brook water trust system. The board moved through four other items without controversy, closing hearings and approving standard orders of conditions for the Aquarium Water 913 project, two Town of Dover culvert replacements on Willow Street and Denim Street, and a pool and patio project at 28A Miller Hill Road, while also granting a certificate of compliance for a long-completed driveway project on a lot adjacent to 137 Center Street. The board unanimously approved payment of a $7,990 December invoice to conservation agent Janet Gilmore, drawn partly from WPA funds after the professional services budget was exhausted, and voted to submit its annual land acquisition fund warrant article to the Board of Selectmen ahead of a Friday deadline.
