Dover Select Board Fills Police Vacancy, Seats Student on Tree Committee

DOVER — March 5, 2026 — Dover Select Board unanimously approves new police officer, youth committee seat, and ADU zoning transmittal. The three-member board, chaired by Robin Hunter and joined by Dave Havlin and Cam Hudson, voted 3-0 on all items at its March 5 remote meeting. Andrew Brineer, formerly of the Dean College Police Department in Franklin, was appointed as a full-time Dover officer to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Sergeant Todd Wilcox and the promotion of Sergeant Jeff Lynch. The board also waived its registered voter requirement to seat Josie Danielski, a Dover-Sherborn High School sophomore, in a youth-designated seat on the Tree Preservation Committee, which had voted unanimously to recommend her. Separately, the board transmitted a package of ADU and site plan review zoning bylaw amendments — covering sections 185-43, 185-5, 185-9, 185-10, 185-36, and 185-40 — to the Planning Board to begin public hearings ahead of the May 4 Annual Town Meeting. The consent agenda included a $1,000 gift to the police department and a $200 gift to the Dover Historical Commission for a historic house designation plaque.
