Dover Declares Level 2 Drought, Limits Outdoor Watering
DOVER — Dover has entered a Level 2 significant drought, and town officials are restricting nonessential outdoor water use to hand-held hoses or watering cans only, allowed after 5 p.m. and before 9 a.m., as the town separately explores fixes for water quality complaints from Aquarion customers.

The Town of Dover announced it is experiencing a Level 2 Significant Drought, according to the town's News Flash service. Under the declaration, nonessential outdoor watering is limited to hand-held hoses or watering cans, and only during the hours after 5 p.m. and before 9 a.m., a tightening of water-use rules aimed at conserving supply during the dry stretch.
Separately, Aquarion Water Company recently joined the Board of Selectmen for a Public Information Session to review options for addressing water quality complaints from Aquarion customers, including discolored water and the presence of PFAS, the so-called "forever chemicals." The town's News Flash service said residents can find more detail on the options discussed.
