Warrant Committee readies for budget hearings; 27 articles awaiting review.
Warrant Committee · Meeting of February 4, 2026
DOVER — The Warrant Committee prepared for departmental budget presentations and the March Town Meeting by reviewing updated preliminary budget materials containing unresolved gaps in ambulance staffing, consulting services, and capital funding assumptions. Chair Woodrow Weiss reported that the Select Board has approved 27 warrant articles to date, fewer than the prior year, with no citizen petitions anticipated. The Committee reviewed a new warrant article tracking form and adopted a delayed-feedback approach to departmental Key Performance Indicators, allowing departments to present KPIs without immediate judgment followed by internal discussion and coordinated feedback.
Departmental budget hearings are scheduled for February 9, 23, and 25, 2026, and an upcoming joint meeting with Sherborn Advisory and the Regional School Committee is planned for February 11 at the Middle School Library, where Dover's significant capital pressures are expected to factor into discussions.
