DOVER — The Dover Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a $100,000 Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program grant from the Commonwealth to fund an eleven-month Climate Action Plan and resilience seed project. Chair Robyn Hunter, with members David M. Haviland and Cam Hudson present, voted to accept the two-tranche disbursement contingent on Town Counsel approval and Town Administrator designation as contract manager.
The Board also reviewed conceptual designs for Centre Street, Springdale Avenue, and Walpole Street intersection improvements under MassDOT's Local Bottleneck Reduction Program, with construction funding increased to $1,000,000; Selectman Haviland expressed concerns about the visual prominence of proposed overhead mast arm traffic signals, and The Engineering Corp offered to provide renderings and explore alternative configurations before seeking formal endorsement.
