Recycling Committee approves prior minutes, reviews glass and metal programs

Dover Recycling Committee approves December minutes and receives program updates. Chair Jenn Luethy presided over the seven-member meeting, which voted 6-0 to approve prior minutes. The Committee learned that staff is researching alternate glass recycling vendors to reduce costs currently at $165 per ton, and that a protective cover solution for the new metal container has been identified.
A joint Styrofoam collection with Westwood drew over 60 participants and filled one-third of a 50-foot truck. The Department of Public Works and Board of Selectmen are targeting June 30, 2026, for adoption of an updated Environmental Purchasing Policy required by SMRP grant requirements.
