DOVER — The Dover Park and Recreation Commission voted 3-0 to approve $68,562.98 in combined expenditures and to adopt revised Community Center hours beginning June, with summer weekdays closing at 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday closure, and fall Thursday hours extending to 9:00 p.m. for pickleball. The Commission expressed concern over Boston College's new "Protection of Minors" policy requiring program participants on BC property to be at least seven years old, which would exclude kindergarten and some first-grade participants from Dover's summer programming at the Connors Center; Parks and Recreation is seeking a waiver or grandfathering arrangement. The Caryl Park parking lot and pickleball court project, approved by the Capital Budget Committee and Warrant Committee, will appear as a separate warrant article at Town Meeting requiring a two-thirds majority vote, with Director Mark Ghiloni expected to present the project highlighting its multi-user benefits and phased cost-efficiency.
