DOVER — Park and Recreation Commission approves revised FY27 budget and five-year capital plan. The commission voted unanimously to adopt a $598,877 operating budget after an assistant town administrator corrected a formula error affecting hourly employee calculations; the final figure is expected to rise once the union ratifies its contract. Commissioners also unanimously approved a capital spending plan allocating $500,000 in FY27 for parking lot and pickleball court improvements, $650,000 in FY28 for Caryl Park playground replacement, $150,000 in FY29 for field improvements, and $40,000 in FY30 for pond upgrades.

The pickleball courts project, recommended in post-tension concrete for durability, follows the 2024 defeat of a larger recreation initiative.
