Dover School Committee rejects School Choice participation for 2026-27. In a unanimous roll-call vote, the five-member committee approved Martha Castle's motion to decline enrollment in the state's open-enrollment program. Superintendent Beth McCoy briefed the board on recent hires and contract negotiations, while Assistant Superintendent Denny Conklin outlined the Elementary Literacy Pilot Program pilots of McGraw Hill Emerge and Fishtank ELA.
Financial reports revealed a $789,000 negative variance in out-of-district tuition costs, driven by six additional placements beyond budget and known cases previously excluded from projections. The committee will discuss class size policy at its June 2 meeting.
