Dover Open Space Committee approves prior minutes, hears state water crisis briefing. Board of Selectmen member Robyn Hunter reported that Aquarian, serving approximately 700 of Dover's 2,200 households, has discovered PFAS ("Forever Chemicals") contamination at multiple well sites and is exploring a $10 million treatment plant or connection to Metropolitan Water Resources Authority supplies. The town's groundwater monitoring equipment has ceased regular operation, and Hunter indicated new bylaws may be proposed requiring developers to update aquifer analysis before major projects.
A consultant estimated rail trail construction at $6.7 million with a new Charles River bridge or $4.2 million without it, citing MBTA environmental and ADA requirements.
