Dover explores options to fix water quality issues for Aquarion customers

Dover is managing dual water concerns: a Level 2 Significant Drought declaration that limits outdoor watering and a separate, ongoing effort to address discolored water and PFAS contamination affecting Aquarion Water Company customers.

The Level 2 Significant Drought declaration brings immediate, enforceable changes for residents. Nonessential outdoor water use is now limited to hand-held hoses or watering cans only, and is restricted to the hours before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. The town has not set an end date for the restrictions, which remain in effect until the drought designation is lifted.
Water quality is a second front. Aquarion Water Company appeared before the Board of Selectmen at a Public Information Session to present options for addressing customer complaints about discolored water and PFAS contamination in the Aquarion service area. The town posted information from that session on its website for residents following the matter.
Separately, the Department of Public Works is preparing to launch paving projects, with work set to begin in July. Residents can find details on planned road work on the town website.
