Dover Holds Drought Restrictions, Aquarion PFAS Options Still Unresolved

No new municipal announcements broke in the past 24 hours, leaving two active town-wide advisories as the dominant story heading into the June 18 weekend: a Level 2 drought declaration limiting outdoor watering and unresolved Aquarion Water Company concerns over PFAS contamination and discolored water.

Dover's Level 2 Significant Drought declaration remains in effect, prohibiting nonessential outdoor water use with one exception: hand-held hoses or watering cans are permitted, but only during the hours after 5 p.m. and before 9 a.m. Automatic sprinklers and other nonessential outdoor uses are off-limits.

The drought alert sits alongside a separate water-quality concern on the town's official homepage. Aquarion Water Company recently appeared before the Board of Selectmen at a public information session to lay out options for addressing discolored water and the presence of PFAS affecting Aquarion customers in town.
