Dover Declares Level 2 Drought, Restricts Outdoor Watering

The Town of Dover has declared a Level 2 Significant Drought, limiting nonessential outdoor water use to hand-held hoses or watering cans only, and only after 5 p.m. and before 9 a.m., according to a town announcement.

Town officials said Dover is currently experiencing a Level 2 Significant Drought, triggering the new outdoor watering restrictions. Residents are asked to confine any nonessential outdoor water use, such as lawn and garden watering, to hand-held hoses or watering cans, and only during the early morning and evening hours set by the town.

Separately, Aquarion Water Company recently joined the Board of Selectmen for a public information session to review options for addressing water quality complaints from Aquarion customers, including discolored water and the presence of PFAS. The town said additional information on possible solutions is forthcoming.
