Dover Board of Health Schedules November Tobacco Regulation Public Hearing

DOVER — October 6, 2025 — Dover Board of Health sets November tobacco hearing and joins state-funded inspector intern program. The three-member board voted 2-1 at its October 6 remote meeting to adopt a draft tobacco regulation — prepared by Town Counsel Nina Pickering-Cook — for a public hearing at its November 3, 7 p.m. meeting, with legal notice required in a newspaper at least two weeks in advance. The board also voted unanimously to participate in the Massachusetts Health Officers Association's Pathway to Local Public Health Program, a pilot internship placing community college students in health departments at no cost to the town, which provides a $10,000 stipend to participating departments. Separately, the board directed homeowners at 8 Greystone Road to obtain a Title 5 septic inspection after the health director reported visible ponding and breakout at their leaching field, which neighbors say was damaged by stormwater runoff from an adjacent new construction project that altered property elevations by as much as 10 feet beyond approved plans.
