Capital Budget Committee backs $1.9M in DPW and building projects

Dover Capital Budget Committee unanimously backed $1.9 million in capital spending for the coming fiscal year. Chair Barry Goldman and members approved a $1,725,000 recommendation for a replacement fuel island at the rear of the DPW building, plus $135,000 for a Ford 450 plow truck, $120,000 for a dump truck with plow, and $180,000 for a backhoe. The committee also unanimously recommended a $150,000 feasibility study of the Town House HVAC system to explore all-electric or geothermal alternatives to existing 30-year-old oil-based equipment, and approved $11,000 for Weil-McClain Boiler repair.
A $100,000 Police Department electric vehicle cruiser purchase was unanimously approved.
