DOVER — Board of Selectmen Membership Size Study Committee appoints consultant to assess selectboard structure. David Peress was elected Chair in a 4-1 vote, with nominating member James Stuart dissenting; Town Administrator Michael Blanchard had raised optics concerns about Stuart's dual role as warrant-article petitioner. The Committee directed Blanchard to schedule interviews with two interested consultants and to provide them with the Committee's draft study questions in advance.
Committee members agreed comparable communities should be selected on the basis of population, education, wealth, budget, home value, and geographic proximity.
