Board of Health removes unanimous vote requirement for associates
Board of Health · Meeting of February 2, 2026
Dover Board of Health removes unanimous vote requirement from associate member warrant. Chair Kay Petersen and Member John Quackenbush voted 2-1 to amend the warrant article, with Member Stephen Kruskall opposed on grounds that the change would not reflect the town's general will. Public Health Nurse Gael Varsa presented regional disease surveillance data showing declining flu cases, though fewer than 50 percent of residents aged 65 and older received the flu vaccine.
The board endorsed a $1,000 purchase of CPR training equipment to enable local instruction and reviewed emergency preparedness planning in coordination with police and fire leadership.
