Board approves $1.5 million in combined budgets for fire operations

Dover Fire Engineers approve $1.5 million in combined fiscal 2027 budgets. The Board approved a $943,943 Fire Department budget and a $559,788 Ambulance Department budget on January 5, both presented by Chief Gerry Smith and department representative Rich Tiberi to the town Warrant Committee. December vouchers totaling approximately $1.05 million were approved across both services.

Engine 1, the department's primary apparatus, completed pre-delivery inspection and is scheduled to arrive January 9, 2026, while six firefighters were onboarded in December with four additional hires in process.
